This is a story about a red delivery truck who had been given the task to deliver gifts to a family of rabbits welcoming a newborn. In the big city, he met other vehicles who were faster and bigger than he is. He started to feel low in confidence. Along the way, he met with some other obstacles and received help from other vehicles to overcome them. He kept wishing that he was as capable as these vehicles that he met. Nonetheless, he pressed on in finishing the task given to him. Just as he was about to reach the rabbits’ home, he met with a serious accident while crossing the bridge. The gifts flew out of the truck with him muttering how useless and small he was before he fainted.
Part of the story reflects quite of the society now where comparison of ability and lifestyle have become more evident and if one is not careful, one can easily fall into the trap of sense of worthlessness and suffer depression or low self esteem. Parents can, however, use the comparison as a means to discuss the different roles that the vehicles play and how each role is important in itself, even that of the red truck, thus help their children build confidence.
Last but not least, it also inculcates the good virtue of being an encouragement to and helping others through other vehicles.
